Thus begins our journey to listen to the entirety of my father's jazz collection. Hundreds, possibly over a thousand albums acquired from when he owned a record store in the '50s and many more from his own purchases.
First album out of the box to queue up on our 1981 Technics turnable and 1977 Kenwood receiver, a 1954 beauty from Johnny Hodges fittingly in honor of Duke (who my Dad occasionally played poker with). Next up, Charlie Parker followed by Pearl Bailey (who at one point was married to my godfather).
A nice way to remember my Dad on Father's Day.
He's still giving to me even though he's gone. It's going to be a great journey.

Can't wait to hear some of the music. That turntable and receiver was from Chapman Rd. now that I see the picture.
