While in Seoul, just before a hefty serving of sea cucumber (definitely not my favorite!) I was served a very interesting wine made from pine mushrooms and rice called Songi Ju. It's hard to accurately describe the taste but it is slightly sweet with a very earthy flavor. Actually, it was pretty good.As is the case with almost all rather odd (and pricey) foods in Asia, Songi Ju allegedly comes packed with a laundry list of beneficial side affects. Which, I might add, no one mentioned to me while I was there.
