Fascinating: MyFarm

From NPR's Marketplace:
San Francisco start-up business MyFarm helps locals who aren't savvy about gardening grow their own veggies at home. Lisa Morehouse has more on the company's success and fans throughout the organic world.

This is a great idea not only from the standpoint of eating organically grown vegetables but also in terms of cost given the current economic environment.

I looked into MyFarm a few weeks back and although we're not going to do it right now we're talking about creating a new concept, "friends sponsored agriculture" (FSA), whereby 6-8 friends plant various veggies in their respective yards then we get together every other week and swap and share in the abundant bounty of all. There are a few more twists we could include such as freshly made pasta, bread dough, homemade cheese, ice cream, etc. but the basic concept is built around produce.

I'll let you know if it gets off the ground.
