You may not have heard of the movie Slumdog Millionaire yet but you will. It just opened in limited release in the US this past Wednesday but already there is talk that it'll be a strong contender for Best Picture of the Year.
Slumdog Millionaire is rags-to-riches story in which an orphan boy from the slums of Mumbai hits the jackpot on the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
I listened to an NPR interview with the movie's director, Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) yesterday morning and I was struck by his description of Mumbai which was very similar to how I described it after my first visit there.

Here is the trailer. Interestingly I didn't get the impression from the interview that it's a love story but that seems to be a heavy component in the movie...
