Remembering an Amnesiac

This post is virtually the antipode of a post I did just a little while ago on a woman who remembered everything.

From Scienceblogs.com...
The amnesic patient known as H.M., who is the best known case study in neuropsychology, has died {on Tuesday Dec. 2], at the age of 82.

H.M., whose full name has now been revealed as Henry Gustav Molaison, lost completely the ability to form new memories following a radical surgical procedure to treat his severe and intractable epilepsy.

Have a listen to the NPR segment about Henry Molaison...

H.M. reminded me of the movie Memento. If you never saw the movie check it out, it's a good flick. Here is the trailer...

Rest in peace Henry.
