First Artist Busted

Shepard Fairey of the iconic Obama poster was arrested yesterday in Baawston, Maahs...for those not from the area it's Boston, Mass.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle via the AP of course...
Shepard Fairey, 38, was arrested Friday night on his way to the Institute of Contemporary Art for a kickoff event for his first solo exhibition, called "Supply and Demand."

Two warrants were issued for Fairey on Jan. 24 after police determined he'd tagged property in two locations with graffiti based on the Andre the Giant street art campaign from his early career, police Officer James Kenneally said Saturday.

The Boston police need to lighten up and go after some real criminals!

Ironically, the USA Network recently awarded Fairey its first-ever "Character Approved Awards" which honors individuals from a cross-section of creative disciplines who are positively influencing American culture.

Here is the interview he did as part of the USA Network award.
