Today marks the birthday of poet, musician and author Gil Scott Heron.
I remember one warm summer evening many years ago I was standing at a stop light waiting to cross a street and Gil Scott Heron walks up next to me. "Do you have a cigarette", he casually asked. "No", I replied. We both went on our way.
