Torture the Other Cheek

Guess which religious demographics are most in favor of torture. I'll give you 100 guesses and the first 99 don't count.

From The Pew Forum...
Amid intense public debate over the use of torture against suspected terrorists, an analysis by the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion & Public Life of a new survey by the Pew Research illustrates differences in the views of four major religious traditions in the U.S. about whether torture of suspected terrorists can be justified. Differences in opinion on this issue also are apparent based on frequency of attendance at religious services.
The answer?

White evangelical Protestants followed by white non-hispanic Catholics (makes sense given the Inquisition and all) who attend religious services at least once a week. In other words, the demographics of people who should be LEAST likely to support torture.

For these folks who would do unto their brother as they would have their brother do onto them I have one question...WWJD?

Oh yeah, who is least likely to support the intentional infliction of pain on another person?

The heathens who are unaffiliated with an organized religion and attend religious services seldom or never. Go figure.
