Last night we went to see a fantastic performance by Amadou and Mariam, two blind singers from Mali who are married to each other. Mariam's singing was earthy and soulful, Amadou on the lead guitar brought to mind thoughts of Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughn, band was excellent, and the chemistry between the couple was beautiful.If you've never seen Amadou and Mariam do yourself a big favor and be on the lookout for their show in your area (or get their CD)....you won't regret it!
