Yesterday was a bit of a slow cooking day. I started out in the AM making a couple loaves of "Hi Rise's Cornbread", courtesy of Maggie Glazer's Artisan Baking Across America. This was followed later in the afternoon by a spit roasted duck with orange and rosemary. courtesy of Mario Batali's Italian Grill.
If you don't have a rotisserie for your grill, get one! It's worth every cent for meat as juicy and succulent as you'll get from spit roasting.
Both the bread and duck were reasonably easy to make (actually I just did the caveman routine with the duck, my wife did the hard part). The bread takes about 6 hours and the duck about 2 but they are well worth the time and effort.
The final results...
