We went to see Food Inc. the other day. It's a well done movie, although a bit depressing at times but it certainly makes you think about what you eat.
The biggest problem that I have with the flick is that it's preaching to the choir. It's only grossed $2.2 mil since it opened June 21 so it's pretty crystal clear that a lot of people aren't plunking down 10 bucks to watch a documentary about food unless they're already into the topic.
This movie doesn't belong in theaters trying to make a dollar or two for the producers, instead it should be freely distributed on the internet, given away on DVD to new moms leaving hospitals, and required viewing in all school classrooms. That's the way to make an impact, not on 112 measly screens across the U.S.
In any event, it'll do you and anyone you love a lot of good to watch it no matter how you get access to it. Here'e the trailer...
