South Carolina, What a Winner

I'm sure there are some very nice folks in South Carolina but wow, what a backwards ass state with bass ackwards representation.

• 1856 - South Carolina Representative Preston Brooks almost beats Senator Sharles Sumner to death on the Senate floor after Sumner gave a speech against slavery.
• 1902 - Strom Thurmond...nuff said?
• 2003 - Joe Wilsom (yes, the same moron) said that Essie Mae Washington-Williams, the illegitimate and black daughter of Sen. Strom Thurmond, was lieing about Thurmond being her father and added that even if it was true she should have kept the inconvenient facts to herself.
• 2008 - South Carolina ranks 48 out of 50 states on the Americas Health ranking.
• 2009 - South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, a supposed paragon of family values, gets busted cavorting with his Latina mistress in Argentina on the taxpayers dime.
• 2009 - South Carolina Rep Joe Wilson calls the President of the United States a liar on the floor of Congress.
