My New Toy

This is my new toy for 2010, a KitchenAid mixer ice cream attachment. I'm not sure why I never thought about making ice cream before because it's so easy and you know that it won't have any preservatives or chemicals added.

In a week I whipped up three batches. First up was a batch of green tea ice cream for a New Years Eve dinner...delicious but a bit on the soft side. Next up was a satsuma tangerine sorbet and vanilla bean ice cream. Both came out with a good consistency and when combined...a homemade creamsicle.

I have a book with over 500 ice cream and sorbet recipes so I'll be at this for awhile.
