The current chaos in Thailand is one such thing.
If someone had told me in '98 during the depths of the Asian financial crisis that 12 years later Bangkok would be burning and Thailand would be a political basket case, I never would have believed it. It's been awhile since I was last in Thailand but I'm having a very hard time understanding how this has happened.
