The week or so ago I was listening to Obama do a Q&A at a town hall meeting and he made a point about U.S. manufacturing job losses (prior to the recession) being due largely to productivity gains and not, as many people believe, to jobs "going overseas."
Seeing this video made me think of that comment (the good part starts around the 1 minute mark)...
