Booommm!

Thanks to an invitation from some very good friends, we went to the Capital lawn on Sunday for the 4th of July concert and fireworks. I'm ashamed to say that although I'm from DC this was only the second time I've been to the Mall to see the fireworks.

As expected, the show didn't disappoint. Although probably not the most elaborate 4th of July fireworks (I'm pretty sure SF and NYC beat DC on that front), there is no better setting than watching fireworks on the Mall with the Washington Monument as a backdrop.

A short video about one of the two families (Grucci and Zambelli) that stage most of the major fireworks shows in the U.S.

We had a great time and so glad you could come! Can't say for NYC, but SF fireworks are almost always lame due to fog. So you missed nothing there.
