When the radio is on in the car it's almost always tuned to NPR. My NPR habit is so entrenched at one point I thought about setting all the channel buttons to the station. So yesterday, when I heard of the passing of Daniel Schorr I felt a sad loss.
Daniel's voice was unmistakable, his experience vast, his insights poignant, his politics right up my alley, and his devotion to his craft inspiring (he was 93 yet recorded his last NPR segment two weeks ago).
Rest in peace, Mr. Schorr. You'll be missed.
