, that was built in 1308 and never penetrated over the course of more than 300 years and 14 sieges. We took a pit stop at a Swedish cookie factory to stock up on some goodies
. After a delicious lunch which included Swedish meatballs
and cod
, we strolled back to the car, taking a few photos along the way
, and headed to Skärhamn
, an idyllic town
on the coast
which fortunately is now featuring an exhibition of watercolor paintings by Andrew Wyeth
(more on Wyeth later). In addition to gorgeous rock formations, the sea
, blackberries
and at least one curious rode sign
, Skärhamn is also home to a smiling church
. I can never pass up an opportunity to eat crab
, so out came the Krona for several huge and tasty crab claws
. On the way back, we went through Gothenburg for a dinner of herring and a northern Sweden quesadilla. I fortunately didn't get run over while mistakenly walking in the bike lane
.All in all, an excellent day with wonderful people.

Thanks for sharing your travels - a definitely plus in your life - the opportunity and time to see the world.
Don't know if I'd want to be driving on the road that warns me of dropping over into some body of water. :)
