The Replicator

I've posted about this tech before but the more I see of it the more I'm convinced it's a game changer. Twenty years from now - or probably less - these printers will be a common household object enabling us to "print", at a much lower cost, a substantial portion of the things we buy in stores or online.

The trade will be in digitized product designs that are sold, downloaded, and used as the templates to create the tangible goods. The impact on the current manufacturing and retail channels as well as energy and raw materials consumption will be huge.
