Wow: Outstanding in the Field

This is definitely one of the cooler things we've done in awhile (and we do some pretty cool stuff!).

Outstanding in the Field...beckons adventurous diners to celebrate food at the source. Bringing together local farmers and food artisans, chefs and winemakers, we explore the connection between the earth and the food on your plate.

The Setting: "Secret Cove Beach", five miles north of Santa Cruz.




The Chefs: Two "celebrity" chefs from San Francisco both of whom were on Top Chef this season...unfortunately they both were eliminated.

The Entree: Halibut caught just off the coast the morning of the dinner. Grilled local vegetables.




The Catch: It's pricey and you shouldn't expect the same quality of food as in a restaurant -- after all they were cooking over coals on a beach -- but for the setting, ambiance, and the locavore objective behind the dinners...priceless!

Outstanding hosts dinners at various locations in the US and Canada in vineyards, farms, barns, caves, beaches, and parks. I highly recommend it. For more info click here
