Having been raised in the Catholic Church, I have serious problems with this.The separation of Church and State should apply not only to the State but to the Church as well. The Catholic, Mormon, Evangelical, Baptist, etc., etc. should butt out and stay out of politics.

The priest at St. Mary's Catholic Church in downtown Greenville has told parishioners that those who voted for Barack Obama placed themselves under divine judgment because of his stance on abortion and shouldn't receive Holy Communion until they've done penance.Oh by the way, no mention of torture or unjust war from the priest so I guess the Bush and McCain voters can rest easy.

I am writing a letter to Father (he does not deserve this respect) Newman. He has his own website (that says a lot to me about his arrogance)
I urge others to do the same. Interesting name isn't it. Most Newman's in the DC area are black Catholics from southern MD. He is not from here? I wonder is there something his parents never told him?
