3D History

3D for the most part is pretty cool...what sucks are those dorky glasses that you usually have to wear.

Some smart guy figured out a way to ditch the glasses and see old 19th century images in 3D.

The shaking of the photos must have something to do with it. It's a little annoying and can make some people feel ill but nonetheless the photos are still fascinating.

From Cursive Buildings...
"Reaching For the Out of Reach" at the Cursive Buildings blog brings the 19th century to life by transforming antique photographs into eye-popping three-dimensional GIFs.

Blogger Joshua Heineman mined the New York Public Library for the old stereoscopic postcards that serve as his source material. You'll see exploding ammunitions wagons (from the Boer War), a stagecoach arriving at Yellowstone, and a Massachusetts machine shop circa 1874 that's suddenly back in business.
