Our Victory Garden

Victory Garden Recipe...
Mix:

A healthy dose of research
3 - sunny days
11- 8x2x10
1 - cubic yard of organic compost (it's a lot!)
24 - 40lbs bags of topsoil
1 - 4 hour tiller rental
32 - 3 inch screws
16 - metal braces
a bunch of 2 inch screws
1 - bag of organic fertilizer
100 - feet of soaker hose
1 - automatic water timer
100 bucks of plants
two sore backs
and
1 - removed tree

let the mixture rest in the sun and out comes...

...our "un-conventional" Victory Garden that hopefully in the not too distant future, if we can keep the bugs, bird and other assorted thieves at bay, will yield a produce-department bounty of tomatoes, peppers, herbs, squash, beans, peas, eggplant, cucumbers, kale, arugula, edible flowers, strawberries, melon and blueberries.

Stay tuned.

P.S. The plants are now planted in the four raised beds and two other smaller areas (about 100 sqr ft in total). Each raised bed is named after someone who had a gardening influence on us.
