RANdom Thoughts on France

After a 620 mile semi-serendipitous journey through the Loire and Bourgogne regions of France, a few initial lasting thoughts and memories...
  • Bright yellow fields of mustard as far as the eye can see
  • Don't ever let anyone tell you French people are not friendly
  • Marquis and marchioness for a night
  • I'm done with sauces for awhile
  • White cows
  • Very good roads and highways
  • GPS is the best thing since sliced bread
  • Beautiful pastoral countryside
  • Incredible farmers markets
  • Idyllic tiny town after tiny town along the way
  • The start of the Seine
  • Escargot, steak tartare, Berthillon glace, and ahhh the pigeon...so good
  • Goat and pea creme brulee...not so good
  • Delicious wine, cheese and bread, of course
  • Time to diet
