A photo I took a few autumns ago at one of my favorite places on Earth
The start of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere officially begins this evening at 11:09 p.m. (EDT) when the center of the sun crosses the Earth's equator.
Contrary to common belief, day and night are not exactly equal on the autumnal equinox. That won't happen until September 26th.
