View From Our Window: Charlotte, NC

One chapter ends, another begins.

Due to a recent change in job responsibilites, the days of hopping around the globe are done. It was a good 15 year run that took me to over 25 countries and led to several good friendships but now domestic duties call, so sayonara Tokyo, au revoir Paris, and tchau Sao Paolo.

How ya doin' Charlotte.

Not the best view from a hotel window but better than the Hooter's in the other direction.

Last week, we spent three days in Charlotte, home of the NASCAR museum, the Museum of the New South, and fried pickles. Yeehaw.

In all fairness, Charlotte has its charms: nice people, good smokey BBQ, tasty and creative cuisine (Anson Mills grits and the bone marrow from venison ribs were delicious), huge wine pours, a lower cost of living, an airport with free wifi, and yes, fried pickles...they're addictive.
